Freelance work for Solid NYC. Completed 2017.
Assisted in the permit filing and construction project of Maison Kitsune's Flagship in Soho NYC. In addition, I was in charge of the fabrication of a bench to be placed outside the store as an attraction. The bench is CNC carved from solid white oak.

I worked with Solid NYC on the construction of the beachfront structure by the world renowned Chinese artist Sun Xun, sponsored by Audemars Piguet for Art Basel Miami 2016.
I assisted in project managing, as well as modeling the structure in CAD. The structure was constructed in pieces off-site and assembled on-site. I led the digital fabrication team in constructing the curved inner walls and the roof structure using a CNC router that was built by me. The structure was optimized to be assembled quickly and disassembled for the one week show.

This sculpture by artist Sebastian Errazuriz was placed in the Audemars Piguet VIP lounge in Art Basel Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Miami 2017.
The sculpture is made of block of hard maple that is then shaped using a Kuka robotic arm and 3-axis CNC router. There is an internal structure made of steel to support the cantilever.
I fabricated the smaller branches that were added onto the main branch using a CNC router that was built by me. The modeling for the blocks of hard maple as well as the steel structure inside was done by me.

Second Nature II is the continuation of the first project. Additional branches were added to the original tree branch to show growth as the sculpture traveled from place to place.
I used a 3-axis CNC to machine these branches out of blocks of maple. I had to flip the block up to 4 times in order to achieve the highest level of detail.
The Birch Side Chair is constructed of Baltic Birch plywood with a steel frame. The panels are finished with a clear coat of polyurethane.
Inspired by Charles and Ray Eames' explorations in molded plywood, the Birch Side Chair is my formal homage to their work. With the distinct angular geometry and contrasting black frame, I attempted to push the classic design to the contemporary scene.
Project completion 2014.
This vehicle was designed and fabricated for the annual NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge, held at the US space and Rocket center in Huntsville, Alabama. The competition challenged students to create a two-man powered vehicle for exploration on the lunar surface. The vehicle had to pass through a rigorous half-mile course; including boulders, inclines, rocky surfaces, crevasses, and depressions. The vehicle also had to be light enough to be carried by the riders and able to fit inside a 5' cube.
As a team, representing the Rhode Island School of Design, we designed and built the rover from scratch. As well as working on all aspects of the rover, I mainly worked on ergonomics - involving seating, peddle placement, and steering.
I was also one of two racers for the buggy. During the first run, one of our custom fabricated wheels snapped in half due to excess lateral forces. Having access to the mechanical shops, we were able to fix the wheel and race the next day. This earned us the "Crash and Burn Award," an award given to a team that shows efficient problem solving skills; an important skill to have for space travel.
The timed race was through a rigorous track. It ended up breaking one of the custom made wheels. In the end, the project was a great experience in teamwork and problem solving.
